I Have Learned for Myself...Holland Burgon

I was looking at the Seeker of Joy, Enoch. It said to read Moses 6:31. The last sentence made me feel the spirit. It said, "Wherefore am I thy servant?"

It means am I a child of God or a royal daughter of God? We are all children of God. We
are His daughters. We should always remember that.

I Have Learned for Myself...Katey Kossin

As I was filling out the 'When' for Nephi in our challenge booklets it took me back to my time at EFY this summer. The 'When' for Nephi asks, "When have I felt God's love for me as I have read or listened to his word?" Over EFY the group that I was with decided to make a goal to not postpone a prompting. If we felt like we needed to do something we would do it. At one of the devotionals there was an opportunity to volunteer and share what you learned from songs we were studying at that time. I felt that I should raise my hand but almost immediately after I was overcome with fear and worry.

I was scared to talk in front of the whole EFY, and what if I stumbled over my words? I remembered what our goal was and told myself that I probably wouldn't get chosen anyway, so I raised my hand. I ended up getting picked and while I was up sharing what I learned I had one of the most spiritual experiences I've ever had. I felt the spirit and Heavenly Father's love for me so strong I could hardly sing when it was time to sing the songs.

I want to bear my testimony of two things, the power of setting goals and the blessings that come if you don't postpone a prompting. I know it's hard to keep with your goals but it is so worth it when you do. You feel accomplished and very proud when you've got there; the trick is to never give up. When you hear the spirit whispering something in your ear, do it. Don't be afraid. If you are, the Lord will help you through it. I love this gospel and I know the power it can bring to your life if you only use it.

Seekers Music

I Have Learned for Myself...Ali Cummings

Written by Ali Cummings, who helped write and compile the pre-camp challenge, "I Have Learned for Myself"

I want to bear my testimony to everyone that if you study the scriptures in this book, you will learn to seek answers to your questions, and ultimately grow closer to Christ. I have already had my testimony strengthened in doing this, and you can too! You can feel an increase in the Spirit, and know that you are not alone in asking questions. Through study and prayer, you can all learn for yourselves the answers you are seeking, and feel God's love for you.

I Have Learned for Myself...Lindsay Miller

Written by Lindsay Miller, who helped write and compile the pre-camp challenge, "I Have Learned for Myself"

Coming up with this book took tons of prayer, fasting, and planning. At first we didn't really know what we were doing or how it was going to work, but as we met together every week and began praying and asking the Lord for help, we were able to come up with the idea that led to our book. The work was slow and hard and it took a lot of scripture study and prayer on what the girls needed to hear. It was great to have Ali and Sister Crane because we all had different perspectives on what was needed and so we put them all together and after lots of work out came the book! Making this has helped me to know that it's okay to ask questions and helped to answer some of mine, I hope that the girls learn as much doing this book as I was able to making it. Love all the young women and leaders putting their time and efforts into this and can't wait for camp!
